Unity in Prayer – Pray Chicago
God is doing something significant through Pray Chicago.
Over the past year and a half, a city-wide prayer movement has begun and is continuing to grow. Pray Chicago was birthed out of a response to the violence in our city — God’s people standing in the gap and seeking His face for healing and salvation to come to our broken city. Pray Chicago has taken place five times so far, and has moved around the city — Northside, Southside, Westside — intentionally including and giving voice to the diverse pastors and leaders in our city.
I have had to privilege, along with Ryan Weaver, to join the Pray Chicago planning team. It is an incredible thing — believers from different churches and different denominations uniting around the vision of “One Gospel. One Church. One Cry.”. We are trusting that the church in Chicago may be one just as Jesus prayed in John 17. We are daring to believe that amazing things will happen as we unite under the gospel of Jesus. As Erwin Lutzer, pastor of Moody Church, recently said, “…the gospel which unites us is more powerful than the differences that divide us.”
Ryan has been helping integrally with the event planning and operations, and I have been helping with web and communications. We are building relationships and connections with other churches and leaders — amazing like-minded people who share our heart for reaching Chicago with the love of Jesus.
We’d love to invite you to join us and others from CITC at the next Pray Chicago – come, be a part:
