Pray Chicago & Faith in Action (Summer 2016)

Posted by churchinthecity in Feedback, Kingdom, Partnership, Prayer

Hey CITC Fam,

I just wanted to share a quick report on Pray Chicago’s united prayer gathering in McKinley Park last Saturday, as well as a look at the “faith in action” initiatives going on throughout this summer:

On Saturday hundreds gathered in McKinley Park on Chicago’s SW side for united prayer and worship in English and Spanish. It was a beautiful time of family fun, games, live music, and passionate prayer for unity, peace, and transformation in Chicago. Pastors and leaders from across the spectrum of Chicago’s neighborhoods and ethnicities took turns leading in prayer, sharing scriptures, and the gospel was preached. You can see photos, videos and more on Pray Chicago’s Facebook page and Twitter account.

Starting tonight and going on throughout the summer, many people and churches will be doing ‘prayer corners’, ‘positive loitering’, and ‘making peace happen’ across the city of Chicago, responding to the violence and ‘wearing’ our prayers. Pray Chicago is featuring initiatives both new and ‘old’, trusting to see the Church stepping into gaps and working to restore trust and engage the communities of Chicago. Check out the map and calendar of all the upcoming ‘faith in action’ this summer.
